Protect Yourself and Others. Stay Home When You're Sick!
The safety, health, and well-being of our students, staff, families and the community is a top priority. We continue to consult with our partners at Mecklenburg County Public Health and follow the guidance of the CDC and N.C. Department of Health and Human Services. Anyone with respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms should stay home. Too Sick for School?
COVID Protocols:
As of Friday, March 1, 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated the COVID isolation requirements, removing the five-day isolation period. In alignment with the CDC, effective Wednesday, March 6, 2024, Mecklenburg County Public Health will no longer require isolation, nor provide isolation letters due to positive COVID test results. CDC and NC Department of Health and Human Services now follow respiratory virus guidelines for schools, which state that individuals with a respiratory virus can return to school after it has been 24 hours since a fever was present (without fever-reducing medicine) and other symptoms are improving. Wearing a mask upon return to school can reduce the risk of respiratory virus transmission.
