• High school students are invited to join the CMS Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council

    Join Charlotte-Mecklenburg Youth Council (CMYC), which is the CMS Superintendent's Student Advisory Council and the official youth advisory council for the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County local governments. 

    In CMYC, you can:

    1. Regularly engage with and advise the CMS Superintendent and other CMS leaders about different CMS initiatives, ideas, and ways to continue to improve the district 
    2. Have opportunities to meet with local government officials and community leaders on the issues and ideas that matter to YOU
    3. Meet new friends from different high schools and parts of Charlotte
    4. Amplify your networks and resume
    5. Serve in your school and city
    6. Expand your opportunities
    7. Be a civic leader who is helping to transform CMS and your community for the better

    The advisory council is led by students, and is a partnership between CMS, City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and CMS partner for K-12 civic literacy education and student leadership, GenerationNation.
