We are delighted to have you here to learn about the process of registering in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Whether you're a parent, guardian, or student, this website is your go-to resource for all things registration. We are also sharing some family resources below to prepare you and your child for Kindergarten. The resources are available in English and Spanish here, but other languages are also available. Please be sure to review the documents accepted for proof of residency and double-check that your child's immunization records are up-to-date and reflect all the requirements of the state of North Carolina, which may vary from other states/countries.

Finalize Registration

Once you have completed the online registration form and uploaded the required documents, you will see a confirmation page. However, registration is not completed until CMS district staff review and processes the documentation.

CMS will process new student registrations in the order they are received. Parents will receive an assignment letter once registration has been processed and is complete.
