Our mission is to ensure all families, educators, and community members are partners in the life-long success of all students by empowering stakeholders with the skills, knowledge, and resources to be informed and actively engaged in our students’ education.

Our objective is to enhance student achievement across our district through the Engagement Pillar of Excellence. We will be intentional and strategic when providing support to schools and families. We will align community partnerships to the specific needs of each school. The Family and Community Engagement Department will work in partnership with various CMS departments to ensure that family engagement is a standard of practice represented in the work of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. We will analyze and utilize school and student data, in addition to feedback data received from families and community partners to drive the support and professional development opportunities that we will provide to schools, staff, and families.
