The Aspiring Leaders Program is a paid leadership development opportunity for CMS certified teachers with 5 or fewer years of teaching experience. All candidates must:
5 or fewer years of experience as a certified teacher
Have a summative/annual performance rating of proficient or above in all standards
Possess a North Carolina Continuing Professional Educator's License
Explore a paid 7-week summer internship experience from June 17 to August 1, 2025 isdesigned to empower teachers through executive mentoring, career shadowing, project management, and leadership training. Our esteemed mentors have included the Superintendent, Learning Community Superintendents, Chief Academic Officer, Assistant Superintendents, as well as other Chiefs & Associate Superintendents. Past participants in the Aspiring Leaders Program have gone on to excel in roles such as facilitators, assistant principals, principals, and various leadership positions within the district. This is for current CMS teachers only.
