Welcome to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools
-
New to CMS? Registration is now open through December 20, 2024!
We are delighted to have you here to learn about the process of registering in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Whether you're a parent, guardian, or student, this website is your go-to resource for all things registration. From finding your assigned school to gathering required documents, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Now is the time to register your child in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as a new student for the 2025-2026 school year. Once registration is processed, your child will automatically be assigned to your neighborhood school (based on your home address) and you will receive a Student Identification Number (ID) and Personal Identification Number (PIN) via US Mail. You can also contact your assigned neighborhood school to request your child’s ID and PIN 24-48 hours after it has been processed. We strongly recommend you complete the registration process as soon as possible to ensure that you get your ID and PIN as soon as possible. This information is for students on all grade levels.
We are also sharing some family resources below to prepare you and your child for Kindergarten. The resources are available in English and Spanish here, but other languages are also available. For assistance, answers to questions, or need additional translations of information, please contact the Student Placement and International Admissions Team. Contact information can be found below.
You can also find buttons below with links to information on how to enroll your elementary, middle and high school students. We want all Mecklenburg County students to have a crown experience at CMS.
