Turning Point Academy Middle School is a specialized educational institution dedicated to supporting at-risk students in overcoming academic and behavioral challenges. Our comprehensive program integrates academic and therapeutic services to foster positive growth and development in our students.
Mission: Our mission at Turning Point Academy Middle School is to empower students to reach their full potential by providing a supportive and structured learning environment that addresses their unique needs.
Program Goals:
- Improvement of Student Behavior
- Improvement of Student Academics
- Improvement of Student Attendance
Student Assignment Process: Student assignments are carefully managed through a formal Discipline Team Meeting (DTM), which includes the student, their parent or guardian, school administrators, the Area Learning Community Superintendent, and other relevant stakeholders. Based on the outcome of the meeting, students may be assigned to Turning Point Academy Middle School for a period ranging from 45 to 180 school days. Upon completion of their assignment, the student's case is reviewed to determine their readiness to return to their homeschool.
Code of Student Conduct: At Turning Point Academy Middle School, students are expected to adhere to the rules outlined in the CMS Code of Student Conduct. Additionally, as an alternative education program, we have specific behavior expectations designed to maintain a safe and secure campus environment. These expectations are communicated to students during the orientation process to ensure clarity and accountability.
At Turning Point Academy Middle School, we are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Through our holistic approach to education, we strive to equip students with the skills and support they need to succeed in school and beyond.
