Dear Turning Point Academy Middle School Families and Friends,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! To say the least, I am bubbling over with enthusiasm and anticipation for an extraordinary year of achievement. This school year will be my inaugural year as your Principal. I am excited to engage in collective efforts that motivate our school community in Forging a New Path to Excellence. This excellence will not be limited to catchy phrases and slogans. But rather, our new path to excellence will be evident in high-quality/standards-aligned, evidence-based/research-based academic, behavioral, and social-emotional instruction. I am proud to announce that the work at TPA Middle School will center around promoting achievement and growth (for all students) within a nurturing, safe, and orderly learning environment.

As our school’s name suggests, we are indeed at a “Turning Point.” Past experiences have caused us to reflect and implement measures that are essential in “Forging a New Path to Excellence,” but rest assured that the best is yet to come. This school year, we have adopted the mantra, TPA Middle School Navigator “ALL STARS” because we are absolutely ALL STARS. The expectation is that the attributes of being ALL STARS are demonstrated within our academic, behavioral, and social-emotional teaching and learning, as well as in our relationships and partnerships with parents and community stakeholders.

In a broad sense, our vision is to provide high-quality educational experiences that are fostered by positive and supportive relationships while igniting our learners to reach their full potential as college and career-ready scholars. Likewise, our mission is to provide a safe and productive learning environment that equips and empowers scholars to effectively navigate their academic, behavioral, and social/emotional choices to ensure college and career readiness and dispel negative perceptions about alternative school education.

As you prepare to enter the hallways, classrooms, and offices at our school and/or contribute to the success of our school in various capacities, remember we are Turning Point Academy Middle School, Navigator ALL STARS, and we are “Forging a New Path to Excellence!”
