    The teacher creates procedures and rules to govern appropriate conduct in the classroom.  


    Procedures should address:

    • Morning Arrivals

    • Transitions

    • Hallways

    • Cafeteria

    • Teen Time

    • Bathroom 

    • Chromebook

    • Dismissal Time

    • Other as appropriate


    Rules should address:

    • Verbal Participation

    • Movement

    • Following Directions

    • Respecting Others

       

    Consequences:

    • Easy to follow through with

    • Reasonable

    • Positive (Motivational – praise, individual rewards,  parent calls, special activities)

    • Deterrents (Verbal warning, proximity,  specialized seating, silent lunch, designated area for teen time, 10 minute time out in another class,  conferences with student, and parent communication)

      

    Level 2 consequences should be used by the classroom teacher if student misbehaver continues despite interventions/consequences given for Level 1 infractions.  This should include parent communication.


    Consequences:

    • Lunch detention with the teacher

    • Before school or after school detention with the teacher

    • Parent phone communication with the student present

    • Time out in another classroom for the remainder of class

    • Parent conference

    • Other as approved by administrator

    Administrative Referrals are designed for two types of situations:

    • Students who continue with classroom disruptions despite both Level 1 and Level 2 consequences, and parent contact has been made by the teacher previously. 

    • Students who have demonstrated severe behaviors (fighting, possession of a weapon, inappropriate touching, disrespect to adults (verbal), assaulting an adult, etc.

    Write up the referral and hand in to your grade level administrator as soon as possible.


    Administrator Consequences:

    • Call the parent (administrator may require the teacher to call parent as well)

    • Administrative time out

    • Detention before or after school

    • In or out of school suspension

    • Referral to MTSS

    • Behavioral Contract

    • Other as deemed fit
