About LMCHS
Levine Middle College High School (LMCHS) is a Cooperative Innovative High School consisting of 11 th , 12 th , and 13 th grade students who complete their required high school graduation requirements while taking college courses for credit and at no cost. Seniors are able to choose between graduating from high school at the end of 12 th grade or staying in high school for Grade 13, with the goal of earning an Associate Degree or Career Certification through CPCC. Students in Grade 13 have completed all high school graduation requirements and take all of their classes with CPCC. LMCHS students come from over 20 different high schools in Mecklenburg County and operate on a CMS Calendar that is consistent with the CPCC Calendar. Our high school day is from 11:20-4:20. Students can take their college classes at any time that does not conflict with their required high school classes.
LMCHS is located on Central Piedmont Community College’s Levine campus in Matthews, North Carolina. Enrollment is capped at 100 students per grade level. Entrance requirements are: credits earned in English I, English II, Math I, Math II, Health & PE and Biology, and either a minimum 2.8 unweighted GPA or a minimum 2.5 unweighted GPA and demonstration of college readiness on RISE, PSAT, Pre-ACT, ACT or SAT assessments. Since our first year of operation in 2014, LMCHS has focused on creating a culture of high academic standards and high expectations for character, respect and integrity.

Credit and quality points are assigned at the conclusion of each semester. Class rank is according to descending weighted GPA. One half additional quality point is added for honors courses. One additional quality point is added for Advanced Placement courses and most transferable community college courses.
-
Grading Scale
A= 90-100; B = 80-89; C = 70-79; D = 60-69; F = Below 60
