Welcome Pineville Families,
Welcome to Pineville Elementary School! We are excited to welcome you and your child as Smilers!
Our school is a unique learning environment made exceptional by the community that we serve. Being a neighborhood school in a small town helps to build community within our school. It is common for us to find the Pineville Police, Firefighters and other community partners supporting our school throughout the building. We are lucky to be part of such a unique and loving environment.
In addition to the community feeling at Pineville, we also believe in supporting the whole child. Kids in kindergarten through fifth grade are kids and deserve to foster their character, social-emotional understanding and most importantly, have fun. This core belief is represented in our belief that all students deserve the opportunity to experience success and be happy. Students experience this through our myriad of clubs, recess, and through our wonderful teachers.
Pineville also has a history of growing students academically. For the 22-23 school year, we were recognized for exceeding growth according to state results. In prior years, we have consistently either met or exceeded growth. Our teachers believe in meeting the individualized needs of each student. This is done through small group instruction and differentiation.
I invite you to participate in our school community as often as you can. Please remember to register as a CMS volunteer. All volunteers must register each year and select Pineville Elementary as the site. Please also remember to bring your photo ID to sign in upon entering the school, as we are working diligently to keep our school safe.
Finally, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in Pineville, attending CMS schools from kindergarten through high school graduation. I have loved calling this area home and feel it has impacted the way I lead. It is important to me that we serve our students and families with positivity, a focus on collaboration and service.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in English Education from North Carolina State University and my graduate degree in Educational Leadership at Winthrop University. I have gained teaching and leadership experiences throughout CMS schools. I started my career teaching 9th through 11th grade English at Central Cabarrus High School and E.E. Waddell High School. Following this time as a teacher, I took on leadership roles at Garinger High School, Smithfield Elementary, Ardrey Kell High School, Olympic High School and Lake Wylie Elementary. My diverse experiences provide me with insight into the importance of growing the whole child and the expectations of rigor as students grow.
I am eager to continue our journey together! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns: earl.french@cms.k12.nc.us or 980-343-3920
Thank you for choosing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Pineville Elementary.
