Just a few brief announcements from your Principal, Mrs. Bailes

SCMS has all teachers in place for the 24-25 school year.  We have many returning veterans, but there will be new adult faces as well.  All the new teachers are outstanding.  We are fortunate to attract such great professionals. Check out our website to see the new faces with their bios in the FEATURE a TEACHER section of our website (located in the announcements section).  

Students will receive schedules in their homeroom classes on the first day of school, August 26th.

Students will receive a mailing from the school during the week of August 12th.  In this mailing, there will be information regarding homeroom teachers, Open House, and information regarding buses. 

During Open House, students will visit their homeroom teacher's classroom; therefore, it is very important to have the homeroom teacher's information with you.

You may learn that SCMS teachers will return on August 12th as opposed to August 16th.  All of us will be engaged in professional development on August 12th and 13th. Capturing Kids Hearts is an initiative SCMS is adopting with many other schools in our district.  Read more about this initiative here: Capturing Kids Hearts.
We are excited for our staff and students.  This is a proven program regarding social and emotional health for our kids and adults.

Beginning August 7th, I will begin sending a parent square message to you each Wednesday in August.  I will keep you up to date regarding CMS news and SCMS news.

There are still many fun and exciting days of summer.  I hope our students continue to relax, READ, and PLAY.
