    • Just as with CMS-issued textbooks, students are expected to treat computers with care, including:
      • Never leave the computer in extreme temperatures.
      • Never allow food or drink to be consumed near the computer.
      • Never attempt to repair a computer without consulting authorized school personnel.
      • Never download unauthorized software onto the computer.

    • Repeated negligent care of a Chromebook could result in revoking a student's take-home privilege.

    • Parents are responsible for immediately notifying their local police department if the computer is stolen off-campus so they can file a police report. The parent should then provide the report number to the school Technology Facilitator, Mr. Vinson.

    • Students and parents understand that a user can only access the Chromebook using a CMS-issued Gmail account.

    • The CMS-issued Chromebook and charging cable will be returned upon withdrawal from the CMS school system.

    • Repeated violations of CMS-issued Chromebooks could result in loss of take-home privilege.
      • This includes but is not limited to failure to bring the Chromebook to school, repeated destruction or repeated loss of the Chromebook, and inappropriate technology usage.

    • All students are assigned a Chromebook.  While a Chromebook is assigned to the student, it is the responsibility of the student and parent(s) to handle the device with care and report any issues with the device immediately to a teacher or technology staff member at the school.

    • Fees associated with lost, stolen, or damaged devices can be found and paid online using the Online School Payment system.

    • A school staff member will collect the damaged device and re-assign a replacement device.  This timeline can vary by school, depending on inventory availability.  Students and parents are still expected to pay the technology fee.
