Greenway Park Elementary School provides a safe, warm, nurturing, caring, and challenging learning environment where each child is recognized as an individual, and all children succeed. At Greenway Park Elementary School, we serve Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students. Academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and success for all are our primary goals. Our excellent, passionate staff work diligently to build a creative learning environment that nurtures positive character traits and promotes academic development for every student. Thanks to our generous community supporters, our school has nearly one-to-one technology for student use in learning. Greenway Park is housed in a beautiful school building that was constructed in 1995 and renovated in 2018. We have new facilities including a science lab and makerspace, dance studio, and band and orchestra classrooms.
As a Creative Arts and Sciences Magnet, we strive to provide an education that is enriched by the integration of the Arts and Sciences. Students have an opportunity to take six Creative Arts classes, including Band, Dance, Drama, Orchestra, Visual Arts, and General Music. We have a fully functioning Science Lab led by a Science Teacher who instructs students in experiments and experiential learning that bring the topics they are learning to life.
Greenway Park is a proud A+ School. We partner with A+ in support of our belief that arts are fundamental to learning and allow us to educate children in a transformational way. Our staff participates in several professional development opportunities throughout the year to support their development in integration of the arts in every day instruction. With the guidance of the A+ Fellows, we continue to improve in our use of the A+ Essentials every year.
There are many activities to involve parents including curriculum nights and Family Nights. Please see our school calendar on this website to get involved.
Greenway Park has over 20 community partnerships! We are extremely thankful to have three strong faith partnerships with St. Stephen United Methodist Church, New Charlotte Church, and Matthews United Methodist Church. They volunteer in the school, provide supplies and technology for the school, and supply our family dinners and Pastries for Parents. Our many community partnerships are a large part of our school success in what we call a "Greenwave" of support.
Please enjoy your virtual visit to our school. We look forward to meeting you and showing you the wonderful campus located at 8301 Monroe Road in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Our main hallway is one of our favorite parts of the building! Each grade-level has its own "Book Nook," a comfortable, fun place for students to read grade-level texts organized by genre. At Greenway Park, literacy is our North Star!
Our courtyard provides a gorgeous place for our students to learn and explore outdoors!
