• Interested in helping our Manatees to SWIM further? Consider joining us as a volunteer! Here are some unique ways that you can volunteer at our school: 

    • Helping Hands: We are excited to introduce a new program called Helping Hands, created by Maria Dorn, a valued member of our community. Helping Hands aims to streamline the various tasks teachers often need assistance with, such as making copies, laminating, cutting, stapling, and other administrative duties. Maria envisioned a program that consolidates these tasks into one place, allowing teachers to focus more on teaching rather than administrative work. Currently, we are finalizing the program's details, which will require a weekly commitment of 1-2 hours. If this opportunity aligns with your schedule and interests, we encourage you to send us an email, and we will connect you with the individuals in charge of this project. Join us in making a meaningful impact at Mint Hill Elementary School! 

    • Heart Math Tutoring: CMS elementary school students are facing challenges in math, performing below grade level. This emphasizes the critical need for individualized support. Heart Math Tutoring offers an enjoyable and impactful opportunity to make a difference by working one-on-one with students on a weekly basis. With the guidance of a Program Coordinator, volunteers utilize a proven curriculum consisting of interactive activities and games, designed to be easy to follow.

      Volunteers commit to tutoring for either 30 minutes or one hour per week, with time slots available at 8:10 AM or 1:30 PM. No prior tutoring experience is necessary, as training and support will be provided. Additionally, volunteers will have the opportunity to work with the same student(s) each week, fostering the development of a strong rapport.
