Dress Code for Students

Huntersville Elementary School provides the opportunity for students to receive quality instructional time in a safe, non-disruptive environment.  The following is the student dress code:

· Shorts and short skirts may be worn to school; however, they should be long enough, with your arms by your side that they extend below your fingertips.

· Students should not wear tank tops to school. Shirts must be wider than a 3-finger-width strap.  Undergarments should not be seen.

· No hats or head coverings should be worn in the building unless they are worn on a special Spirit Day.

· The mid region of the body should not be exposed by students at any time.

· Shoes should be appropriate for safe, active play.  Soft-soled shoes, such as tennis shoes, must be worn for physical education class.  For safety reasons, students are not allowed to participate in bare feet.

      Because students often have to travel up and down stairs, heels, noisy sandals, open-toed shoes, thongs or flip flops are dangerous and are not permitted. All sandals worn must be fastened around the ankle or lower leg.  All shoes must have a back on them and no open toed shoes. 

· Jewelry should be kept to a minimum.  The school is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Código de Vestir

La escuela elemental de Huntersville le da la oportunidad a todos los estudiantes de recibir educación de alto nivel en un ambiente saludable.  El siguiente es el código de cómo vestir apropiadamente en la escuela.

· Shorts y faldas cortas son permitidas en la escuela. SIN EMBARGO, deben estar a nivel de la rodilla.

· Los niños o niñas NO DEBEN USAR camisas o cortas, es decir sin mangas o de tiritas.  Las camisetas o blusas deben traer mangas.

· NO es permitido usar sombreros o gorras, al menos sea permitido en algún día  especial.

· La parte de la cintura nunca debe ser expuesta o dejarse ver, para los niños y niñas.

· Lo zapatos deben ser apropiados para las actividades diarias y el juego.  Zapatos de suela suave, como los tenis deben ser usados para la clase de educación física.  Por razones de seguridad a los estudiantes no le es permitido estar sin zapatos o con sandalias en la clase de educacion fisica.

Para la seguridad en las escaleras dentro del edificio y para mantener silencio en los pasillos, el uso de sandalias bullosas, zapatos de taco, o chancletas es prohibido.

Todas sandalias y zapatos de verano deben tener los talones tapados. Sin zapatos de punta abierta.

Los estudiantes no deben ponerse muchas joyas, la escuela no es responsable por las cosas personales perdidas.
