Students must meet the following requirements to be eligible for admission:
- Current CMS student or eligible to attend a Charlotte-Mecklenburg School.
- Completed and passed Math I or Algebra I, Math II or Geometry, Biology, English I, English II, two Social Studies Credits, and Health/PE
- Completed and passed English III and Math III (rising seniors)
- Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.8 OR 2.5 unweighted GPA with qualifying test scores (see below for Middle College HS Qualifying Test Scores).
- Qualifying Test scores should be submitted to the School Principal's email address ONLY

CMS Lottery Update
The next opportunity for families to try for a seat at a magnet school with space is through participation in the reassignment/transfer process. This process is handled by Student Placement, and it opens February 1st.
The list of schools with space and the link to apply will be housed at www.cmschoice.org starting February 1st.
These requests ARE processed in a first come, first serve basis. The deadline for families to apply and receive a result before the 2024-2025 school year starts is July 15th (June 30th for early and middle college programs).

Future Enrollment Applications opens September 16
- Using Google Chrome, complete the CMS School Choice Lottery Applications.

- YOU MUST RETURN TO CMS WEBSITE TO ENROLL IN LOTTERY

Step 2
Using Google Chrome, complete the CPCC Application
This is a required part of the process.- The student should complete this step and enter their contact information
- Complete and submit the online CPCC application to obtain your CPCC Student ID Number via email, within 48 hours
- Go to CFNC
- Create an account or Login to your CFNC Account
- Click the link at the top menu "Apply to College"
- Click "Application Hub"
- Click "Start an Application" and search for Central Piedmont Community College
- Choose the Central Piedmont Community College CCP Application
- Complete the 2022-2023 CPCC Application.
- Go to CFNC

Step 3
This is a required part of the process.- Within 48 hours, the student should check their email which was entered on the CFNC Application
- Create a CPCC login.
- Access the CPCC Login application directions here.

- Click on Applicant Information Form to complete the Cato Middle College High School Applicant Information Form.
- It's important that we have accurate contact information for prospective students and parents.
- Click on Applicant Information Form to complete the Cato Middle College High School Applicant Information Form.
