Dr. Jared Thompson, Principal

Jared Thompson was named principal at Mallard Creek High School, effective June 19, 2023. He previously served as principal at Carmel Middle School from 2020 to 2023 and assistant principal from 2017 to 2020. Dr. Thompson was the dean of students at Ridge Road Middle School from 2015 to 2017 and began his career as a teacher at Westerly Hills Academy from 2013 to 2015.

Dr. Thompson earned his Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2012, where he was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow and a captain of the football team. He went on to earn a Master's degree in Executive Leadership in 2016 and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2019, both from Gardner-Webb University.

Originally from Statesville, North Carolina, Dr. Thompson and his wife Amanda have a four-year-old son, Solomon, and a newborn daughter, Sophia. They are proud members of the Mallard Creek community.
