Ms. Bridgette Best

Hello Coulwood Families!

 

I am Bridgette Best, and it is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the Principal of this exceptional school! I am deeply committed to ensuring that every student at Coulwood STEM Academy receives a high-quality education that prepares them for success in the future.

 

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education from Virginia State University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Wingate University. My career began in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and I have had the opportunity to serve in various leadership roles in Gaston County Schools, including Assistant Principal and Principal, prior to joining the Coulwood STEM Academy family.

 

At Coulwood, my vision is clear: I am committed to helping every student exceed expectations and reach new heights. I believe that with strong instruction, the right support, encouragement, and resources, all students can accomplish more than they ever thought possible—both academically and personally. By nurturing a growth mindset and challenging students to push beyond their limits, we will help them discover their strengths and build the confidence they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

 

Our focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) will empower students to think critically, problem-solve, and innovate in ways that will prepare them for tomorrow’s opportunities. However, this journey is not just about academics; it’s about developing well-rounded individuals who are passionate, curious, and ready to contribute to their communities. 

 

I am committed to fostering a culture where both students and staff are encouraged to explore their full potential, take risks, and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. I am excited to work with our dedicated staff and supportive families to create an environment where every student can thrive and feel inspired to soar to new heights.
