Welcome to Elon Park Elementary School, home of the Eagles! 

At Elon Park Elementary, staff, students, families and community members collaborate to provide an extraordinary learning environment where all reach their potential, enrich their individual talents and exhibit school pride at ALL times, in EVERYTHING they do. 

We believe in creating an inclusive and nurturing school community. We have a diverse student population. As we welcome families into the community, our Multilingual population continues to grow with over 200 students receiving services from our two full time ML teachers. We have two Talent Development teachers who concentrate their energy on supporting teachers in implementing strategies to support gifted instruction. We have one and a half EC teachers to support our students with disabilities and two full time academic facilitators who support all classrooms Kindergarten through fifth grade to ensure our instruction is of the highest quality, engaging and relevant to our children. 

At our school, we focus on creating engaging, student centered classrooms by creating strong classroom communities with a focus on the traits students need to be successful in the classroom and beyond. We are a National Paideia Seminar Certified School (November 2021).  Paideia seminars to support our development as speakers, listeners and critical thinkers. All of our classrooms also use Thinking Maps which help make thinking visual and build connections across all areas of our school. Last year, we became a National Showcase School for Capturing Kids' Hearts.

I invite you to participate in our school community. We have an active PTO who works alongside our staff to make our school a fun and inviting place to be every day. Please remember to register as a CMS volunteer. All volunteers must register each year and select Elon Park Elementary as the site. Please also remember to bring your physical ID to sign in upon entering the school as we are working diligently to keep our school safe. 

On a personal note, I have called Charlotte home for the past 16 years. I bring 26 years of experience in education, having taught kindergarten through third grade, and supported all elementary levels as a literacy facilitator, dean of students, and assistant principal. My husband and I are proud parents to two adult children, and we share our home with a spirited six-year-old pup.
