Rea Farms STEAM Academy is transitioning to a FULL MAGNET school over the next two school years. For the 2024-2025 school year:
- Students in grades Kindergarten-5 are admitted through the CMS Magnet Lottery only. The lottery took place in January 2024 for the academic year that begins in August 2024. Visit cmschoice.org to learn more about the magnet lottery.
- Students in grades 6-8 who reside within the Rea Farms school zone boundaries may enroll at any time. Rea Farms will remain the home/neighborhood school for grades 6-8 until a new middle school is opened (target = August 2026).
Complete the CMS enrollment packet and submit it to the school. You may email documents to the data manager or make an appointment to deliver them to the school.

Additional items, such as prior school records or special services documentation, may be required before a student begins classes. When all documents are available, a new student can usually start classes the next school day. Getting school bus transportation may take up to a week.
Magnet Lottery
Magnet seats at Rea Farms are awarded by lottery. The lottery usually takes place in winter for the next academic year. Results are sent to the school and families in February-March. Students who win magnet seats are assigned to Rea Farms. Students who do not win magnet seats are placed on a wait list. There is a separate wait list for each grade level. If a magnet seat becomes available (i.e., student declines the seat), we will call a student from the waitlist. About ten days after the academic year begins, the magnet office dissolves the wait list. For more information about CMS magnet schools and the lottery, please visit cmschoice.org.Transcripts/Records Requests
