Welcome!

My name is Andre Plaisance, and I was named Principal of Carmel Middle effective July 1, 2023. I have spent my summer learning all things Carmel to ensure continuity of experiences for our students, families, and staff. Carmel Middle School's strong tradition of excellence is something I look forward to shepherding and enhancing.

I grew up in New Orleans, LA where I also received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Math from UNO. I attended UNCC as a Principal Fellow where I achieved my Masters in School Leadership and Curriculum Design and Development. I have spent the past 20 years as an administrator in CMS and I am excited to bring my experience to this wonderfully diverse community.

My amazing wife, Rebecca, and I have three fabulous children. I love good food and spending quality time with family and friends.

I am committed to providing a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for our students as well as to mitigating barriers to learning. I love the diversity of our school and I am committed to ensuring access to opportunities for all students as well as creating an environment where families feel welcome to be involved in their student's education and school activities.
