    Gregory Gabriel, Winterfield Elementary School

    Gregory Gabriel is a fifth grade math teacher at Winterfield Elementary School in Elementary School Performance Area B. He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from Carnegie Mellon University. He also earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in teaching from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Gabriel is a National Board Certified Teacher in early adolescent mathematics.

    Tina N. Handie, Mountain Island Lake Academy

    Tina N. Handie is a sixth grade Math Standard and Honors teacher at Mountain Island Lake Academy in the K-8 School Performance Area. She earned a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Albany State University and a master's degree in K-5 mathematics from Walden University.

    Ashleigh Holub is a kindergarten and Expanded Impact 2 teacher at Villa Heights Elementary School in Elementary School Performance Area A. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and received her teaching certification in early education from the Louisiana Resource Center for Educators.

    Kerrie Lalli is a fifth grade science and K-6 science specials teacher at Sedgefield Montessori School in Elementary School Performance Area D. She earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and English from Cornell University. She also earned master’s degrees in childhood education from the State University of New York at Cortland and in STEM leadership from Adams University.

    Aileen Lopez, Hawthorne Academy of Health Sciences

    Aileen Lopez is a multilingual learner and English teacher at Hawthorne Academy of Health Sciences and the Military and Global Leadership Academy in High School Performance Area C. She earned a bachelor’s degree in pedagogy from the Universidad de Puerto Rico, and master’s degrees in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and administration and supervision from Interamerican University in Puerto Rico. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in early adolescence through young adulthood/English as a new language.

    Angela Noonan is a self-contained Extensions teacher for second, fourth and fifth grade students at Pinewood Elementary School in Elementary School Performance Area E. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in science and a master’s degree in special education from Wright State University.

    Michael T. Sanders is a music teacher (band, chorus, AP Music Theory) for grades 7-12 at J.T. Williams Secondary Montessori School in High School Performance Area A. He earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

    Cathi Schulte is a third and fifth grade multilingual teacher in English language development at Endhaven Elementary School in Elementary School Performance Area C. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is pursuing National Board Certification in English as an additional language.

    Holly Shelton is a health and physical education teacher at Quail Hollow Middle School in Middle School Performance Area A. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social studies education and a master’s degree in teaching from Biola University.

    Kalilah Smith is an eighth grade English language arts teacher at Mint Hill Middle School in Middle School Performance Area B. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a master’s degree in education with a focus in literacy from Lesley University and a master’s degree in psychology from Capella University.

    Steven Rusk is a social studies teacher (World History, Civic Literacy, AP U.S. History) and yearbook teacher for grades 9-12 at David W. Butler High School in High School Performance Area B. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in secondary education and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Winthrop University. He is a National Board Certified Teacher in social studies-history adolescence and young adulthood.

    Rosa Elvira Coker is a K-3 teacher assistant at Sterling Elementary School in Elementary School Performance Area E. She earned an associate’s degree from Miami Dade College in exceptional students and early childhood and a bachelor’s degree in literature from Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University in Peru. She is pursuing a master’s degree from Grand Canyon University and was a high school Spanish teacher in Peru.

    Jodi Holnagel is a 6-8 English Extensions teacher assistant at Jay M. Robinson Middle School in Middle School Performance Area B. She attended Delta College and worked 15 years for a credit union in Bay City, Mich.

He also worked in finance with BB&T/Truist for 20 years and wealth management for the last 10 of those years.

    Raquel Rhodes is a Spanish immersion kindergarten teacher at Oaklawn Language Academy in the K-8 School Performance Area. She earned bachelor’s degrees in political science, linguistics and French and a master’s degree in Spanish linguistics from Baylor University. She is an adjunct professor of Spanish at Queens University of Charlotte and previously taught at Baylor.
