Sportsmanship

Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools promotes mutual respect and civility among everyone involved in an athletics competition or event, including coaches, student-athletes, game officials, school administrators, police and security personnel, families, school community, and the public. Good sportsmanship intends to maintain, to the greatest extent possible, a safe, harassment-free athletic competition and event site for everyone in attendance.

Eligibility

• Must have passed a **minimum load of work during the previous semester (beginning second semester)
  Must be in attendance at school for at least one-half of the instructional day
  Responsibility
• Must adhere to all North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and CMS athletic eligibility regulations. The failure of school personnel, parents, or a student-athlete to be aware of a rule is not sufficient cause to set aside the application of the rule.
  Must pay the participation fee or meet the waiver criteria when named to the team roster. The participation fee does not guarantee playing time.
