Being a Full Magnet school specializing in the Learning Immersion and Talent Development (LI/TD) program means we are dedicated to providing an exceptional learning environment for advanced learners. Our unique focus allows us to offer a rigorous curriculum specifically designed to challenge students to think analytically and critically, equipping them with the skills needed to solve real-world problems.
What sets Irwin Academic Center apart is our commitment to fostering an educational experience that goes beyond traditional learning. Our dedicated staff receives ongoing professional development on the latest research-based strategies to best support advanced and gifted learners, ensuring our teaching methods are innovative and effective.
The Learning Immersion (LI) program serves students in grades K-5, emphasizing instructional strategies that promote critical and analytical thinking. This foundation helps our students achieve their highest academic potential from an early age.
For grades 3-5, our Talent Development (TD) program offers a full-day, inclusive experience tailored for identified gifted students. Those not identified as Academically/Intellectually Gifted (AIG) by grade 3 can continue to benefit from the LI program, ensuring every student receives the personalized education they need to excel.
Additionally, all students in our LI/TD programs have automatic continuation to the International Baccalaureate (IB) middle school program in their transportation zone, providing a seamless transition to further advanced educational opportunities.
