NC Governor's School
Governor's School is North Carolina's most prestigious 4-week summer residential program where some of the brightest students come together to focus on a discipline of their choice.
The academic disciplines available in Governor's School are:

*Please note that 10th grade students are only allowed to apply for a discipline within the Arts.

If you are a hard working student and would like to further explore any of the disciplines above, please consider applying to Governor's School! Any NC high school student can apply, but you will be among the strongest applicants if you have ANY of the below qualifications:

Cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.25 or higher;

Cumulative weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher;

Score of 4 or higher on an NC End of Course assessment;

Score of 3 or higher on an Advanced Placement exam;

Grade of B or higher in a Career College Promise course on the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement, or a University Course;

Minimum composite score of 19 on the Pre-ACT/ACT or a minimum score of 1010 on the PSAT/SAT;
-
Minimum score of 90th percentile on aptitude assessment (composite or subtest).
If you are interested in Governor's School for Summer of 2024, please fill out the following form no later than Wednesday October 18th. Once you complete the form, Mrs. Rivers will reach out to you through email regarding next steps to completing your application. The final deadline to have all application materials sent to Mrs. Rivers is November 3rd, so the sooner you submit the interest form, the sooner you can begin the process!

Did you know??
You need 18 credits to be promoted from a Junior to a Senior. These must include Math 1, Math 2, and English II that you needed for promotion to 11th grade. This is a BIG year for you and one that colleges will really be looking at. Put your best effort into ALL of your classes. Keep track of your graduation requirements with the Class of 2025 Checklist.
*If you plan on attending a 4 year University, it is STRONGLY encouraged to take 2 levels of the same foreign language and either Chemistry or Physics as your Physical Science Credit.
