On Thursday August 1st, Communities In Schools (CIS) TRiO hosted their first Summer Sneaker Soirée Send-Off at the Harvey B. Gantt Center. This event saluted recent Class of 2024 TRIO graduates headed to college. CIS TRIO includes: West Charlotte High, West Meck High, Harding High, and Olympic High. West Charlotte CIS TRiO students! Even a few WC TRiO Alumni, currently home from college for the summer, took a moment to honor the recent graduates. Zaniya Littlejohn received the CIS TRiO Director’s Award for her dedication and participation in the program. Sydney Davis was recognized for Best New Participant. All recent grads received a gift card to help them prepare for their upcoming college venture.
