Saturday Behavior Interventions to Support Students and Families Across the District
In a bold and compassionate step to better support students with behavioral challenges, SDBS' Alternative Education Manager, Dr. Delisa Fields, facilitates Saturday Behavior Interventions at the district’s Student Discipline and Behavior Support office. With a heart for healing and a passion for equity in education, Dr. Fields and her amazing team are meeting students and families where they are—offering restorative support, not just consequences.
Every Saturday, families enter a safe, structured environment where the goal is transformation. Through focus discussions, reflective exercises, social-emotional coaching, and family-centered strategies, Dr. Fields is helping students reset, refocus, and return to their schools with renewed purpose.
“Discipline should not be the end of the story,” Dr. Fields says. “It should be the turning point.”
These sessions are more than just behavior conferences—they are opportunities for growth, healing, and accountability. Students are guided through the roots of their behavior, while parents are equipped with tools to support change at home. The approach is holistic, compassionate, and deeply intentional.

The Saturday program is part of a larger vision to disrupt cycles of suspension and disengagement by investing in proactive, restorative practices as directed by our Superintendent. Dr. Fields brings her years of expertise in behavior support and trauma-informed care to every session, ensuring that no student slips through the cracks.

By giving up her Saturdays to pour into students and families, Dr. Fields and her team is not just addressing behavior—they are changing lives.
