Class Schedules
Our school counselors and administrators have worked diligently to review student achievement data, teacher recommendations, and course preference forms to create students’ class schedules for the upcoming school year. Class schedules are available to view on your scholar's PowerSchool account. Bus assignments and other important information have been mailed via USPS to the address on file.
Class schedules will only be changed for the following reasons:
- The administration needs to balance class sizes due to enrollment
- A student does not have a course on their schedule that is required for enrollment
- Student or parent requests to enroll in advanced coursework- move from standard to honors; the reverse changes will not be made.
- A student does not have a full schedule
- A student does not meet the prerequisites for a specific course on their schedule

Transportation
All newly enrolled students need to complete the CMS Student Ridership Form to notify the CMS Transportation Department that they will need a bus for the 2023-24 school year. https://www.cmsk12.org/buses It can take up to two weeks for a bus to be assigned. Therefore, a bus may not be assigned to your students before the first day of school. CMS will provide transportation services for eligible students to and from their residence address. It is important that you maintain an accurate residence address for every student at our school. Address changes are only processed at your assigned school.
Families who would like to request an alternative stop must complete this form each year. Alternative stop approvals do not carry over from year to year.
Car Rider Information
Students can be dropped off in the morning beginning at 8:45 am. Be mindful that there is no supervision before this time. Dismissal begins at 4:15 pm.
To assist with pick-up, we are giving car riders a number and creating a numbered placard that is placed in the car. If your child is a permanent car rider, please fill out the following form to receive a carpool placard. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Anderson at taram.anderson@cms.k12.nc.us
